History
In 1905, Hans Wilsdorf founded in London “ Wilsdorf & Davis” a wholesaler company. The same year, he signed a contract to distribute the Aegler wristwatches brand in UK. In 1908, he creates his own brand called “Rolex” abbreviation of “Rolling Export”. In 1914, Wilsdorf won a class “A” rating certificate from the Kew observatory in England. In 1914, “Les Fils de jean Aegler become Rolex Watch Co. Aegler SA, Manufacture d’Horlogerie”. In 1920, Wilsdorf founded “Montres Rolex SA” in Geneva. In 1926, he patented a watchcase with a screw down crown. In 1927 the “Oyster” was born when Mercedes Gleitze crossed the Channel in 15 hours and 15 minutes. In 1931, came the “Perpetual”, then the “Datejust” in 1945. Rolex makes its own movements and produce over 700,000 watches a year many being iconic like the Daytona, Submariner or the Prince to name a few.

Steel case, It is approximately 36 mm excluding the Gold Rolex Twin Lock Crown. The Stainless Steel case is in excellent condition with no marks or scratches. The case has never been inscribed and has only had light restoration. This has brought it back to its original finish. These cases are often excessively over polished and lose complete definition, but this does not apply to our watches as we have a top restoration service.
DIAL:
Gold with Applied Gold Faceted Baton Indexes. Here we have the original gold Rolex Date-Just dial with gold baton indexes and it is in excellent condition. The dial is signed “Rolex Oyster Perpetual “, “Date-Just”, “Superlative Chronometer”, “Officially certified”, “T Swiss T”. It is simply stunning!

This is particularly accurate, reliable and strong. It is in superb condition and is working perfectly. The movement has been thoroughly serviced and calibrated by our in-house master watchmaker and is warranted for 12 months*. The movement is signed “Rolex SA, Geneva, Swiss, 27 Jewels, Adj 5 positions, temperature 3035”. These movements last a lifetime and more.
