ROLEX 14K GOLD PRESIDENTIAL OYSTER PERPETUAL DATE 1975
This very rare Rolex 14k Gold presidential Oyster Perpetual dates from 1975. This model is the 1503. It has the black gloss Dial which contrasts beautifully, and the condition is like new. This watch is fitted with the 1570 Superlative Chronometer Automatic movement. These movements are highly accurate and reliable and will give over a lifetime’s service. The watch comes with its original 14k gold riveted bracelet and it is truly stunning. It is accompanied with a Rolex Travel pouch. This is a beautifully cared for example with only the minimal restoration. This is a stunning watch to own.
History
In 1905, Hans Wilsdorf founded in London “ Wilsdorf & Davis” a wholesaler company. The same year, he signed a contract to distribute the Aegler wristwatches brand in UK. In 1908, he creates his own brand called “Rolex” abbreviation of “Rolling Export”. In 1914, Wilsdorf won a class “A” rating certificate from the Kew observatory in England. In 1914, “Les Fils de jean Aegler become Rolex Watch Co. Aegler SA, Manufacture d’Horlogerie”. In 1920, Wilsdorf founded “Montres Rolex SA” in Geneva. In 1926, he patented a watchcase with a screw down crown. In 1927 the “Oyster” was born when Mercedes Gleitze crossed the Channel in 15 hours and 15 minutes. In 1931, came the “Perpetual”, then the “Datejust” in 1945. Rolex makes its own movements and produce over 700,000 watches a year many being iconic like the Daytona, Submariner or the Prince to name a few.

The 14k Gold case measures 34.5mm approximately, without the twin lock crown. The case is unmarked and has never been inscribed. This case is in immaculate condition having only been slightly restored. These cases are often excessively over polished and lose complete definition, but this does not apply to our watches as we have a top restoration service.
DIAL:
Black gloss with Applied Gold Faceted Baton Indexes. Here we have the original oyster perpetual date dial with gold baton indexes, and it is in excellent condition. The dial is signed “Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date”, “Superlative Chronometer”, “Officially certified”, “T Swiss T”. This is something special!

STRAP/BRACELET:
The original Rolex 14k Gold bracelet measures approximately 20 cm and can be adjusted to 18 cm. The bracelet has all the correct serial numbers. If you would prefer a leather style strap, please let us know and we will do our best to assist.

Swiss Made Rolex 1570 Chronometer Automatic. The original high grade, officially certified, Superlative Chronometer, 26 Jewel 1570 calibre movement is particularly accurate, reliable and strong. It is in superb condition and is working perfectly. The movement has been thoroughly serviced and calibrated by our in-house master watchmaker, and is warranted for 12 months*. The movement is signed “Montres Rolex SA, Geneva, Swiss, 26 Jewels, 26 adjusted 5 positions, 1570”. These movements will last a lifetime and more.
